Internship over and graduation!

Its been a long time since i've update my blog, but I have been so busy! I spend the last 2 weeks on my graduation project, which can be seen in both my project and gallery section. My hard work paid of and i graduated from Truemax with the top grade: 12! So i'm extremely happy! :)

Internship!

I can now announce that I have gotten an internship at A.film here in Copenhagen starting January 7th! I've worked together with A.film before on our Dinosaur project at 4th semester and i'm really looking forward to work with and learn from the in the next 6 months! I'm going to be a part of a feature film production that hopefully will go to the cinemas. Cant wait to get started :)

DADIU Graduation game: Cantrip released!

The end product of my 5th semester is finally out and available for play!

After 6 weeks of hard work together with some awesome people from team 4 (Sons of Sam) at DADIU we can present our game to the public. The game is a black and white 3d puzzle adventure, where you play as a little orphan boy who tries to rescue his sister from an evil witch. The setting is in a dark scrapyard, where the witch curses the boy with magnetism, which he now has to use to solve the various puzzles. The game visuals are heavily inspired by Tim Burton and gives a dark and spooky atmosphere.

My role in the making of this game was mostly modelling and unwrapping of a large amount of props and rigging of the characters. Which pressured me to learn a lot about rigging, not just in general, but also for Unity 3d. The modelling part also proved a small challenge as I had to keep the polycount as low as possible for the game to have a smooth performance. I also got to make a few animations on both the main character and the dog.

All in all it was a great experience, with some awesome people and we had a lot of fun making this game. We were all extremely happy about the reception the game got by the critics both at the graduation and after.

Try the game out here and check my "Projects" page for more details: http://team42012.dadiugames.dk/

Hopefully we can take this game further and ind the end release it commercially. :)

Dadui mini-game project complete.

As a warmup to our big DADIU game project, we've made a little mini game that is now availible for play! It took our fantastic team 5 days to create the game, from concept to "finished" game. :)

I did character modelling for the penguins, some prop modelling, and rigging and skinning for all characters. I even got to animate a few cycles for Eve, and all of the cycles for the Zombie Penguins and the Alien.

It was a nice challenge to try to create something in a very short periode of time, where you really had to restrain your self from being to perfectionistic. In the end its always fun to se your model and animations running around in a game :)

Try the game out here: http://team42012.dadiugames.dk/

Danish filmschool crossmedia computer game just had premiere!

During the winter 2011/12 i worked on a crossmedia computer game at the danish filmschool, and it finally had its premiere last friday! :) It was a really great feeling watching some of my work on a big screen and to try out the game afterwards.

The game is about a girl who wants to find out what her father did for PET (Danish Secret Intelligence Agency) during the cold war. Its kind of a selfbiography from the director of the game. You play it on your computer, but you use your iPhone (or Android phone) as a controller. Works quite nice. :)

I did character modelling and rigging on this project. I modelled the "Dad" and rigged him. Also modelled and rigged the legs for the rest of the characters, execpt the main character. Besides that i did some prop modelling and texturing aswell. The game was made in the Unity engine, which was a new challenge for me in both modelling and rigging. I learned alot about doing thing more simple and restricting my work to what Unity could handle. All in all a really great experience, and a fantastic team to work with :)

The game isnt out there for everyone to try yet, but you can take a look at it at it here: www.ydersthemmeligt.dk

And not to forget! The fantastic rewiev from Politikken: ;)
